Open Buildings, Facilities & Offices

The short-term campus visit process for remote employees will be phased out beginning June 1, 2021.  In its place will be a decentralized off-schedule visit process.  This process requires approval for campus visits by those employees assigned to fully remote work or hybrid work to come to campus on days not established by the employee’s schedule.  Continued tracking of such visits allows for required tracking of employees for exposure investigation, worker’s compensation matters, and compliance with collective bargaining agreement stipulations regarding on-call work and employee schedules.

Off-schedule Visit Process

As the campus focuses on return to campus activities, employees can continue to access campus with a more simplified and streamlined process. Access to buildings will be granted through an off-schedule visit request form. Due to limited resources while the campus focuses on return to campus activities, buildings are open on a very limited schedule prior to their reopening date (limited to 1 date per month). Once a building is opened on the reopening schedule, employees can request an Off-schedule visit during business hours through Dean or Supervisor approval.

Due to the varying degrees of complexities the campus is managing this summer with return to campus, we are trying to facilitate all access needs (prior to the building opening) on this one week of access (each building open one day).

Visits prior to the building's reopening date require both Dean or Supervisor AND Risk Management and Safety Services approval.

Visits to buildings open as part of the reopening schedule ONLY require Dean or Supervisor approval.
