President Announces Extension of Temporary Telecommuting

Tuesday, May 19, 2020 - 8:52am

Dear Campus Community,

I wish to thank all members of the Sonoma State faculty and staff for the adjustments you have made to work remotely since mid-March. Together, we continue to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 while staying true to our mission of helping students achieve their educational goals.

Because of the continued state and local orders related to COVID-19, Sonoma State University is extending our temporary telecommuting program. The earliest that eligible employees will return to work on campus will be July 6, 2020, after which we anticipate using a phased approach to resuming on-campus operations. We will ensure social distancing is observed in the various work sites on campus and will make every effort to provide employees with a two-week notification before calling individuals back.

Please understand that COVID-19 has created a dynamic situation that may require further adjustments. We recognize that these are difficult times for everyone, particularly for parents and other caretakers who are navigating the challenges of sheltering in place.

With thanks for all you do to support Sonoma State,

Judy K. Sakaki
President
